This scheme is introduced w.e.f 1st July, 2010 to give financial assistance to the widows / legal heirs of in-service deceased government servants on the following rates: -
The grant is paid either in shape of National Saving Certificates, fetching fix monthly return and encashment on maturity in five years or through cheque, depending upon the wish of grantee. The Scheme has replaced the old Monthly Grant Scheme for the deceased government servants. However, currently running cases of Monthly Grant Scheme (15 Years) are continue on set terms and conditions. However, any case related to period before 1st July, 2010 is also dealt with old Monthly Grant Rules. Monthly Grant Scheme where grant was admissible for un-expired portion of 15 years (death after retirement) is also discontinued with effect from July 01, 2010. However, any case related to period before 1st July, 2010 is dealt with old Monthly Grant Rules. Cases are considered eligible for the Lump Sum Grant Scheme, if and only if, at least one month deduction has been made on the new rates, introduced w.e.f. 1st July, 2010.
